Vic Buxton

My carving experience commenced when I was on a 2 year work contract assignment in Kingston, Jamaica. I visited many shows in the park and was very much enamored by the carvings of Thomas Coleman. My wife and I bought at least 20 of his carvings and they now adorn our household. We became friends and he began to teach me carving. This was in 1997-98. I started to carve back in Canada in the early 2000s but I was also deeply engaged in wood turning.

I sold my lathe in 2021 and became then more deeply focused on woodcarving, and pyrography.
